The fifth and last exhibition within our event series hosted by Contemporary Matters is organized by art historian Amelie Gappa and artist Tamara Goehringer. Under the title with my jaws blue and my eyes running water, they will take over the Contemporary Matters Studio for one week in August. Hosted by Contemporary Matters is a series of events which invites artists, curators and researchers to the Contemporary Matters Studio.

The performative exhibition "with my jaws blue and my eyes running water" continues the experimental summer school and residency "up here my eyes are green leaves" (2022). Unlike more fast-moving projects it was intended to create a lasting discussion, to address issues over a longer period of time, and to create moments of deeper connection. Rather than pursuing an imperative of productivity that we are constantly confronted with, the processual nature of artistic and curatorial work was emphasized. Starting with the 2022 residency, the following themes emerged, which now form the superstructure of "with my jaws blue and my eyes running water": Processuality / activity / community.
On the basis of this triad, Katharina Bruns, Amelie Gappa, Tamara Goehringer, Valentin Hesch, Un-Zu Ha-Nul Lee, JP Langer and Jonathan Mink develop their contributions - on site, during the set up and presentation, alone and/or together. Like our work, the group dynamic is fluid and will be expanded in Vienna with contributions from Chiara Bartl-Salvi and the adO/Aptive group.
Performances, readings, and a brunch exploring the above themes will accompany the exhibition. Everyone is warmly invited to participate.
