It’s easy to distance yourself from conflict that happens somewhere else. On another continent, in another country, another time zone. A bomb explodes hours later in Europe and lasts until we scroll down. What we have taken for granted is now turned inside out.
Amid these Conflicting Times artists and space&design strategists from different geographical and social-political backgrounds overcome distance. They create a transit zone of resistance, acceptance, dialogue, doubt and fear. They pause, propose and process experiences of war and conflict, now and in the past, to form discussions out of chaos. They invite you to connect in Conflicting Times like these.

Saturday, 14. 01. 2023 - Individual and Collective
What do individual will and choice matter when a conflict erupts and changes our daily lives? What do the others matter when we are still able to live our daily lives? Everything we take for granted is being turned inside out. We can find ourselves in conflict with the land, the culture, the people, we were born or live in. Identities are dispersed and unified.
The contributing artists put the individual responsibility in times of war into question. They re-examine how we think and care for ourselves and others in Conflicting Times.

Sunday, 15.01.2022 - Resistance and Acceptance
When things we take for granted no longer are, we can accept or resist the apathy of a generation who may have lived in peace their whole life. In order to negotiate, we need to face ourselves and the past, which continues to determine our present. We need to fight the acceptance of war in our society and ask, what does aggression mean for a generation living in peace and stability of Western societies?
The contributing artists stand against violence, borders and fear. They put into question what our role as artists and people can be in those Conflicting Times.
